Antonio Galloni

Antonio Galloni is a renowned wine critic, journalist, and founder of Vinous, a platform that provides reviews and information about wines from around the world. Antonio Galloni is recognized for his expertise in the field of wine, particularly Italian wines, and his reviews are highly regarded by wine enthusiasts and industry professionals.

Before founding Vinous, Antonio Galloni was a critic for Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate, where he covered the wines of Italy. He has also contributed to various wine publications and is known for his comprehensive and insightful wine reviews.

Antonio joined The Wine Advocate as its Italian wine critic in 2006, adding Champagne in 2008.

In 2013 Antonio left the TWA to start Vinous where he serves as its CEO. At the time of his departure, Galloni was the lead critic at The Wine Advocate, and had authored 1/3rd of the reviews published by The Wine Advocate in 2012. . He developed tailored public events & seminars such as the highly anticipated “La Festa del Barolo,” vertical tastings focused on the benchmark wines of Italy, and numerous charity dinners.

At the intersection of media and technology, Vinous is Antonio Galloni’s vision of a modern-day wine publication. Vinous’s team of renowned critics and writers offers in depth coverage of new releases, retrospectives and verticals of older wines, videos with winemakers, interactive maps, restaurant recommendations and more, all published in a continual, daily stream of articles. With the acquisition of Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar in December 2014 and the addition of the IWC editorial team, Vinous expanded coverage to all major wine regions. Today Vinous has subscribers in over 100 countries and is one of the most respected wine publications in the world.
